1962: The Year America Expelled Its Creator, and Its Decline
1. America, which led the world through faith
In 1940s Gallup polls, a large majority of Americans reported regular church attendance.Until the early 1960s, America was a flawless giant. Victory in World War II put about half the world's wealth in its hands, and it raised the moral shield of "Christian democracy" against the great evil of communism.
It engraved "In God We Trust" on its money, and children in classrooms bowed their heads to ask for wisdom.
The America of that era was humanity's strongest version: honest labor, overwhelming military power and a national destiny soaring to the skies.
2. The ruling that banned prayer in schools
It happened in an instant. Amid the tides of evolutionism and secularization, the Supreme Court ruled in 1962 (Engel v. Vitale) that official prayer in public schools was unconstitutional. The very next year, in 1963, Abington School District v. Schempp removed devotional Bible reading and the Lord's Prayer from schools as well. God, the "absolute moral standard," was erased from the minds of the nation's future, its children, and evolutionary humanism was installed in His place.3. A powerless lion in a swamp of curses
Almost as soon as prayer stopped, America's string of victories ended. It sank into the quagmire of Vietnam and tasted its first defeat. After pouring trillions of dollars into Afghanistan over twenty years, it handed the whole country back to the Taliban in 2021 and suffered the humiliation of fleeing by helicopter. An empire boasting the world's strongest military knelt twice before militias. Coincidence?
4. America became a city of violence and zombies
Society rotted from within too. The violent crime rate nearly doubled, from about 160 per 100,000 people in 1962 to over 320 in 1969.The divorce rate more than doubled between 1960 and 1980.
Society was swept away by waves of indulgence, the hippie culture and the sexual revolution, and the streets filled with people bent over and staggering on fentanyl. A country where over 100,000 people a year die of drug overdoses. Millions of families broken apart by drugs.
5. Economic ruin and a swamp of debt
In 1971, America abandoned the gold standard and with it the value of "honest money," and in 2008 it pushed the world to the brink with the fraudulent financial engineering of subprime mortgages.America went from a sweating manufacturing powerhouse to a casino nation living on debt.
The national debt has become an unimaginable number, well over 30 trillion dollars, strangling future generations.
Conclusion: where prayer stopped, only ruins remain
Church membership, once around 70 percent, fell to 47 percent in 2021, below half for the first time.Homeless encampments have occupied the great cities that once symbolized American power, and political correctness and gender confusion are dismantling the family, society's last stronghold. The pandemic, then the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East: isn't it all a money party for a tiny global elite?
