How My Tinnitus and Weight Problems Improved
The ringing in my ears started about a year after I began a poorly planned vegetarian diet for high blood pressure.
I quickly quit smoking and changed my diet, but it was too late. The tinnitus didn't go away.
Then high cholesterol and fatty liver were added on top.
They did nothing.
No matter how much I searched online, I found almost no cases of tinnitus improving.
There was one: eat well and walk a lot. Fine, let's exercise.
It was also strange that even eating small portions, my belly kept growing and my weight kept rising.
If I fasted I got dizzy; if I ate, my belly grew. All that was left was prayer.
In my whole life, there's never been a single thing that wasn't resolved when I prayed long enough.
The doctor said it was strange for this to happen at my age. A miracle.
Facing the risk of blindness, I was admitted for laser surgery under general anesthesia.
Out like a light. The surgery went fine.
Wait, I prayed about my tinnitus, so why did things get worse?
I fasted before going in. But because of a hospital mix-up, the surgery wasn't in the morning after all. I fasted until evening. Me, fasting. A miracle.
They gave me porridge at 7 p.m. and nothing until 8 the next morning. My fasting time went past a full day. A miracle.
I was so hungry that my weight dropped and my belly went down. A miracle.
Breakfast at 8:30 a.m., lunch at noon, dinner at 6 p.m. Completely different from me.
These are the times when food tastes best.
Mild, low-salt, balanced Korean home-style meals with no wheat flour. Nothing like the instant-noodle diet I usually ate.
Dinner at 6, then nothing until 8:30 the next morning. A 12-hour fast. Wow.
I stopped all snacks, just like in the hospital. Every day I went nearly 16 to 18 hours without food until the next meal. I ate mild home-style meals like the hospital's, as much as I wanted.
The surprising thing was that even with long fasts, I didn't feel hungry or weak the way I did as a kid. Strange. If anything, waiting for mealtime made it a joy.
After about three weeks, the tinnitus and cardiovascular symptoms all returned to normal. I lost more than 3 kg too. I need to keep watching, but my body feels light and my energy is great.

A chain of miracles

The best diet was in the hospital
